My cousin was a wine collector. Each month he would receive a box of wine, not just wine but rare wine. When I was lucky enough to be invited to dinner he would share one of these bottles of wine. Now I have to say I am a wine lover, and can tell a good wine from a bad one, but every bottle I shared with him was better than any wine I had ever tasted. It’s the kind of wine that you sip, you savor.

Good wine truly is like liquid gold.

I can hear glasses tinkling toasting their agreement from all the wine lovers out there.

You really can’t go wrong giving a great wine gift to someone who has everything, or someone who is hard to buy for. Wine is treasured almost universally and even revered by some to an almost spiritual level. They will thank you when they open the present. Thin women are either applauded, if they are models, or told they need to eat more, if they are not.

Many ‘thin’ women are not that way because they choose to be. Many may be dealing with medical issues, not eating issues. How do I know? Well I have Colitis, and trust me, it’s not an eating issue.

For women who do not fit the ‘norm’ clothing is always an issue. In this case I’m talking about thin women.

Whether it’s a medical, or an emotional issue, some women can’t change their size, no matter how hard they try. I have to say I get comments that suggest that if I just ate more I wouldn’t be so thin. This kind of outlook, from people you know, and even strangers, can push a thin woman to try to hide her size. A thin woman shouldn’t have to feel they need to hide their size because it is out of their control.

Hey, when you love a woman, you love her for all she is right!

When it comes to picking a clothing gift for a thin woman in your life it’s really important to recognize that she may want to try to cover up in the Spring/Summer as much as she layered in the Fall/Winter. Layering gives the illusion that she is larger than she actually is.

Layering is not so easy in the warm weather.

Layering doesn’t have to look unattractive. There are many great fashion ideas that she will love when the warm weather arrives. Some woman can make the piece of clothing a bit more loose, while others are more flowing, which so many women love.

I have talked about all the different types of Mom’s we have in our life. Today I want to talk about a gift for a Mom that you may never have thought of.

A personal story.

My Oma (grandmother) was a wee bit of thing, height wise, and not so much a wee bit of a thing, size wise, and she was full of joy and full of life. She loved to play cards, usually canasta, but also poker and many others. She loved card games. I always thought she would have loved Las Vegas.

But the best part of the break in the card game was having a beer or two.

That was the special part of playing cards for my Oma. She would go and get a beer for everyone, except us underage kids, and I could see her eyes light up. It wasn’t about alcohol, it was that about the social tradition of playing cards, eating snacks and enjoying a beer with friends and family. The beer was part of the rituals she loved and it made her happy (and yes she did love her beer).

Yah Mothers, even Grandmothers, will be thrilled with a beer gift. If my Oma was around today I would give her a monthly beer gift.
